but the first time I walked into the lobby of the G Hotel along Roxas Boulevard in Manila I fell in love with it.
There was something about its black and white chic that made it unlike any other hotel lobby in Manila.
It was small and the sofa looks so comfy that it made one immediately feel at home.
The contemporary design, by renowned Filipino architect Gerry Contreras, reminded me of another hip and excellent hotel I stayed in Hong Kong, the Le Meridien Cyberport.
I really have nothing against grand hotel lobbies with lavish-looking chandeliers and ornate chairs. However, they make me feel old and moneyed and am not 😛
As the newest hotel in Manila, G Hotel is all of seven storeys, with fifty rooms each having its personalized butler. Had an ocular and I can only wish the modern contempo theme of the lobby was carried to the rooms..it was not. They had a nice view of Baywalk and Manila Bay though.
Facilities include a ballroom, a pool bar and a coffeeshop at the ground floor which presently offers an eat for two one is free breakfast promo, at P550 per person. The food was good if only because they serve my favorite Norwegian salmon.
Having said all this, I wonder what G means, or if it means anything at all 😛
G Hotel rooms start at $120 for tourists.
It is located at 2090 Roxas Boulevard, Malate, Manila (beside Aloha Hotel)

Hmmmm, looks like a fine hotel, and as always I am very interested in the rates 🙂
But one tip for all those travelers reading your blog, try the Hostel 1632, Adriatico Street near Pedro Gil crossing, one of the best bargains in Manila.

Hi Pascal. I never thought you went to Manila already 😛
Hostel 1632 is just near my office. I think the rooms are very small!! and I wonder how reasonable it is. Looks pretty from the outside though…

Was there two years ago… rooms are very small, but very clean… bathroom is cute, so small that you can pee and take a shower at the same time:-)

Hmmm, it’s a touch too modern for me; but then I again I do live in a 1920s house with some original art deco fixings still in place.
ajay says
Hi Pascal.I think I got claustrophobic when I saw it 😛 that’s how the rooms possibly are… in Japan
1920s? and i thought our 1950s digs was old already Lawrence. That should be interesting…

Hi Ajay. I’m an avid reader of your site. I have a dilemma that I hope you can shed some light to. I booked a surprise trip to Kota Kinabalu for me and my boyfriend on June 8, but I have to go with my family to HK that weekend too. How can I change the flight in Air Asia? it’s so hard online, it doesnt go through. it shows Error for some reason. Since you have traveled via AirAsia, maybe you have any contact details with you or info how i can reach them? I’ve tried email, online, and call center (but no one is picking up)… 🙁 i really badly need your help.

Hi, looks like you guys know a lot about hotels! I’m wondering if you have any telephone numbers of G Hotel? I’m having this despedida bonding night for my girlfriends. Any suggestions for a very affordable hotel we can go into and just sneak in the others? 🙂
