Over the weekend, the family had a wonderful staycation at F1 Hotel Manila, otherwise known as the first topnotch hotel to rise in Bonifacio Global City. Their location is simply superb since it’s just walking distance to Bonifacio High Street, St. Luke’s Medical Center and other happening areas in the bustling Fort strip.
F1 is part-hotel, part-residential. It is also 100% Filipino owned so it was quite impressive stepping into their modern lobby on the fifth floor. You’d think it was part of an international chain.
We checked in their Fort Suite, a one-bedroom apartment with an approximate size of 45 square meters (rate: P8,820 per night). Highlight was the huge queen bed which surprisingly fit me and my three little girls. I really loved the working table (not shown in photo) with flat TV on the wall and a ready cable for connecting your computer to the web. Big points to this hotel for fast and free, not paid, broadband internet. There’s also a spacious closet and the bathroom had a shower (wish it was a tub!)
The living room had a sofa, another flat TV, dining table, mini bar, closet and coffee-making equipment. But my favorite was the full-length mirror with native accent, a must if you’re obsessed with “selfie’s” like everyone else. Haha.
As a mom, I had a great bonding time with my kids during this short stay. Aside from escaping Manila’s intense summer heat in the comfort of our airconditioned room, we also enjoyed the food at their all-day restaurant and frolicking in a choice of any of the hotel’s three swimming pools!
This coming Mother’s Day on May 12, F1 Hotel Manila is going out of its way to treat all moms out there and make them feel special. Find out more about their offerings
after the jump.
For every four dining companions, moms get to eat buffet lunch or dinner for free!
In partnership with the in-house Fame Salon on the 2nd floor, moms will be entitled to a free manicure or pedicure service as well.
And when Mom is booked at F1 Hotel on that day (May 12), she will also be given a spa voucher which will entitle her to one hour in-room Swedish or Shiatsu massage worth P999. If she proves to be too busy that day, the voucher will expire in three months yet.
Here’s a look at their spa where I had a relaxing massage. They also have a sauna and jacuzzi. The best thing is that they’re open for 24 hours!
There was a gym for the fitness-conscious
One of my favorite spots is the Canary Lounge beside the pools where one can have cocktails while enjoying a good view of the city. The Filipino-style cabanas and couches look so cozy!
Barbecue is a must during Fridays and Saturdays for the whole month of May. The servings are really scrumptious. We tasted their Fiipino Sugba Set good for four persons for only P1,999 and it was irresistibly good. Diners can also choose between Brazilian Churrasco, American BBQ or Japanese Yakiniku.
Of course, we should not forget the buffet area which had Filipino, Japanese, Chinese and Continental specialties. Food offerings at the F1 Restaurant will soon get a revamp with the hotel’s new Executive Chef, Sau del Rosario. For the kids, the best part was the desserts, particularly the chocolate fountain.
