Franchise 2010: The 18th Philippine International Franchise Conference and Expo (PIFCE) will unfold on July 14-18, 2010 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
The event should be of interest to entrepreneurs and business-minded people looking at franchising as a way out of the corporate rut. According to studies, start-up businesses have a high failure rate of 75%, as opposed to the success rate of franchises at 90%, making the latter a viable option indeed if one is seriously looking at alternative streams of income.
Organized by the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) and co-presented by PLDT Business Solutions and PLDT SME Nation, Franchise 2010 offers four events in one: a conference on July 14 and 15; a three-day expo on July 16-18; franchise seminars; and the Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) program on July 2 and 13, at the AIM Conference Center Makati.
With theme “Getting Ready for the World,” the 18th PIFCE will usher in Franchise Asia 2011, that will feature the twin meetings of the World Franchise Council (WFC) and the Asia-Pacific Franchise Confederation (AFPC) to be held in Manila. PFA is the only franchise association in the Philippines that is recognized by the WFC and the APFC.
Franchise 2010 expects around 30,000 visitors and 335 booths and will affirm the Philippines’ position as Asia’s global leader in franchising. “It will highlight the unlimited opportunities that abound in franchising, especially with high expectations on global financial recovery and the bullish projections on the local economy,” says Elizabeth Pardo-Orbeta, Wendy’s Philippines president.
Franchise 2010 is a joint undertaking between PFA and DTI, supported by the World Franchise Council and the Asia Pacific Franchise Confederation, with The Generics Pharmacy, Monterey, Bodega Site, Quali Plus International, Max’s Restaurant, Philippine Seven Corp., Goldilocks Bakeshop, PR Gaz Haus, Seaoil Philippines, Mister Donut, Francorp Philippines, Banco De Oro, BPI Family Ka-Negosyo, Jollibee Foods Corp., Red Ribbon Bakeshop, Chowking, Greenwich, Coca Cola Bottlers Phils., Pepsi Cola, Selecta, Blue Water Day Spa, IBM Phils., Montanara, Sports House, Adman Resources, Citibank – Cardplus, Bench, GMA-7, Philippine Star, Manila Bulletin, Business World, Business Mirror, Panay News – Western Visayas, Entrepreneur Phils., www.philstar.com, NU 107 FM, Mellow Touch, RJ 100, Franchise Asia, Global Integrated Media Ltd., SM Supermalls, Ayala Land, Inc., Araneta Center, Robinson’s Malls, Shangri-La Mall, Waltermart, Cebu Pacific Air.com, Mindgate Systems, Inc., and AM Cleofe Prints.
