This is not my car brand, but I have to admit the elegant look of the Ford Fiesta has caught my eye and turned my head several times.
And now for the news:
The Women’s World Car of the Year awards are designed primarily to reflect the preferences of women buyers through the ballot box of women motoring writers from around the world and points out that while some of the judging criteria remains consistent throughout, there are variables.
Commenting on the reasons for the selection of the Ford Fiesta as the 2013 Women’s World Car of the Year and the Economy Car Award, beating out Kia Forte and Toyota Prius, UK judge Victoria MacMillan Bell said Ford’s styling gets better and better.
“The Fiesta has such a high-end look and feel to it. Pair this with the multi award-winning 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine, achieving range figures and performance never before seen and this very stylish pocket rocket wins in every category, with bells on.”
Kay Hart, managing director of Ford Philippines, noted that the award is such a BIG honor for the unassuming small car.
Starting August, eight new class-leading Fiesta variants will be available to customers at Ford showrooms nationwide featuring the 1.5L Ti-VCT engine, in both automatic and manual transmissions.
The new 5-door Fiesta Sport+ with the patented 1.0L EcoBoost engine, which was recently named the 2013 International Engine of the Year, winning the award for the second consecutive year, will be available to customers later in the year.
