The 2017 Star Award Winners of the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide is out. And for the first time in six decades, two hotels in Manila earned the much-coveted 5 star rating. Two hotels in Makati and another two in the Manila Bay area earned four stars (the full list at the end of this blog post).
There’s much jubilation at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila for achieving the five-star rating from the Forbes Travel Guide which prides itself for having “the most exacting standards in the industry.”
It’s guided by a scoring system where a proprietary algorithm weighs service at 75 percent and the quality of the facility at 25 percent.
” Our team of expert inspectors anonymously evaluates properties against up to 800 objective standards in 162 destinations across 42 countries,” FTG said.
