History’s in the making as Madrid Fusion 2015 unfolds in Manila on April 24-26. To celebrate this culinary milestone, Ayala Malls – in collaboration with the Department of Tourism – holds a Gastronomy Festival featuring the creations of the Philippines’ top chefs from April 10 to 26.
Highlights are tasting menus in select restaurants, food trucks, a foodie film festival and other food-related events one can’t possibly miss.
Catch Menu Degustacion from now until April 26. Innovative dishes from these restos will be showcased: Greenbelt – Cibo, Lusso, Fely J’s, Lorenzo’s Way, Chihuahua, Cafe Havana, Sumo Sam, John & Yoko, Balboa; in Bonifacio High Street – 2nd’s, Lorenzo’s Way, Nanbantei of Tokyo, Wild West Roadhouse, Beso Cucina & Vinoteka, Wolf & Fox Gastropub; in Ayala Center Cebu – New Orleans, Seafood Island & Sumo Sam.
Cocinas Viajeras or stylized food trucks will be doing the rounds too.On sale will be munchies created by chefs Gaita Fores, Chele Gonzales, Myrna Segismundo, Rob Pengson, JP Anglo, Noel de la Rama and Sau Del Rosario. Catch the trucks tour Bonifacio High Street on April 10-12, Trinoma – April 11-12; Glorietta – April 17-18; and Alabang Town Center – April 24-25.
Merienda, an afternoon foodie event, will also be held. Merienda will be served from 2 to 5 pm on April 13-16 and April 20-23 at Food Choices of Glorietta, Alabang Town Center and Ayala Center Cebu.
Much awaited is the Festival de la Paella Gigante III which will be held on April 18 in Greenbelt 3 Park Makati City. The giant paella will be prepared by Chefs J gamboa, Fernando Aracama, Carlo Miguel and Mikel Arriet. Alongside, there will be live music from DJs and a dance performance by Centro Flamenco.
Also, film buffs should mark their calendars for ‘Pelikula: The Spanish Foodie Film Festival.’ Screenings will be conducted exclusively at the Greenbelt 3 Cinema from April 22-26 at a price of P100 each. Among the featured films are: Mugaritz BSO, 3055 Jean leon, Cooking Up a Tribute, Nerua: A Journey to the Essence, The Dream and a few others.
