Tying the knot with the love of your life is one of the most magical moments that you will experience. Your loved ones are coming together to see your union, and you and your partner are making a commitment to be with one another for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health. And that’s a big commitment to make, and one that will shape the rest of your life with the one that you love.
As such, you want to make your big day as special as it can possibly be. But how can you do it? Here are 5 ideas.
#1: Think about what brought you together
Everybody has a backstory to their relationship, and places and things that unite them. Perhaps you and your partner met at a festival, or whilst you were on vacation. Whatever places (and things) are important to your relationship, bringing them into your wedding day can really remind you why you fell in love with this person, and the history that is attached to your relationship.
#2: Keep it small
Some people have grand dreams about their wedding day, and want to get married in a huge building, with hundreds of people present. And this is totally OK; it’s your day and you should be able to do it however you want to. However, if you want to make it that little bit more special, then why not tie the knot in a smaller venue, where you can be surrounded by your closest friends and family members?
#3: Choose some great music
Invariably, you and your partner will have a similar taste in music, or you’ll at least enjoy the same kind of vibe at a wedding party. Perhaps you want to really get your guests going with one of the wedding bands from alivenetwork.com, or maybe you’d prefer to have a DJ who can play music from all eras? Whatever music you enjoy, make sure you have some great tracks to dance to with your new spouse!
#4: Use a message box for guests
The people that you invite to your wedding will remember the big day just like you will, but it’s hard to remember exactly what they felt at the time, and what they enjoyed about the wedding. If you use a message box, you can get people to write little notes on the day, and you can enjoy reading back through them at a later date. This is a great way to make sure that everybody’s memories are tangible!
#5: Opt for a theme
Although some people don’t want to have a theme for their wedding day, it can be nice to have one, no matter how subtle it may be. Perhaps you and your partner are a little bit hippy, and you want to reflect this in your boho wedding decor? Or maybe you want to show your shared love for something else, in small ways throughout the day? Whatever it is, a theme can add a personal touch.
Enjoy your wedding, and making it that extra bit special!
