Sometimes you’d wonder if there’s still room for another coffee label in Manila. It seems we already have everything. Britain’s Costa Coffee certainly changed the game when they opened their first branch in Eastwood City in mid-2015. I missed that opening but have been to their subsequent branches in Robinsons Place Manila and One World Place in BGC. I must say it’s my favorite place to hang out in these days. So photogenic!
I find it fun to chill in Costa and make a few Instagram-worthy memories with my daughters. These photos were taken at the BGC branch…
British touches like the Union Jack in the interiors are very eyecatching, and for people like me who have an affinity to the United Kingdom (having worked there), being in Costa Coffee can be a sentimental journey. Otherwise, everything’s just delightful with free wifi and glossy magazines to while the hours away!
The products are as interesting as the interior design.Don’t expect to have a heavy meal here, but they do have sandwiches and salads to go with your drinks. My favorites at Costa are their desserts, as simple as their salted caramel brownie, key lime pie, chocolate cake and a few others.
For their signature beverage, Costa Coffee uses only the Mocha Italia blend which is the perfect mix of meticulously-chosen Arabica and Robusta beans. Costa takes pride in the fact that the final product has a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. When we talked to Costa coffee master Gennaro Pelliccia last November, he assured us that the Costa taste of being perfectly smooth, round and rich is consistent throughout. The quality of the coffee is the same whether you drink it in Dubai, Manila or London.
Costa Coffee branches in the Philippines as of December 2015 are at Eastwood Citywalk, Robinsons Place Manila, One World Place building in Bonifacio Global City (near Kidzania) and Robinsons Antipolo
