The unstable weather the past few weeks has not been good to everyone, and people I know have either been sick or simply not feeling well. The same is true in my household where my children and I have been fighting colds, cough and body pains. Good thing I spotted this thing in the grocery shelves: Roots Ginger Brew, the new salabat.
It’s refreshing to say the least. This drink is made of 100 per cent real ginger (so they say). The ginger taste is not really so noticeable, maybe because some people hate its strong taste. The drink is touted to cure sore throat. Apparently, the ginger in Roots undergoes a brewing process, and the brewing releases key components which promote good digestion and heals itchy throat. I have to admit gulping on this drink while feeling under the weather made me feel less depressed about things. You know how being sick is.
Retailing for only P21 for every 330 ml, this is now the most affordable commercial ginger drink I can find. Imported ginger ales from Australia (where this drink is popular) can cost three to four times more. It is also a good anti-oxidant and a healthier alternative to the common soft drinks with lots of sugar.
Roots Ginger Brew is endorsed by no less than popular online personality Bogart The Explorer. Get one today! Go to www.facebook.com/rootsgingerbrew for more details 🙂

Can it be refrigerated? I like drinking ginger root extracts especially when I have hoarse voice.
Anyway I am glad to see Bogart the Explorer as a guest for the event. Hope to join in but another event came in.
Can it be bought in 711 or ministop or limited stores only? Thank you

I was able to try this when we went to masangkay street to visit a friend. I think it was in a Chinese grocery.

It tastes good, though the tang of Roots Ginger Brew tastes stronger than that of Marks and Spencer’s ginger beer. It’s a healthy alternative to colas and other sodas. Good that it’s now available in many supermarkets.:)

Folks back home have tried ginger brews in diff’rent forms from the ready made candy bits, powdered and sweetened version and even those that aged (ginger) for about a year or two and then convert it to an instant hot ginger brew. With the cold version, my kid will have agood time humming her notes! 🙂

I bought and tried this one from S&R a while and loved it! But it was too expensive to buy regularly. Good that it is now available in regular supermarkets at a much lower price. Great news for me and my son, who also loves ginger ale.

I love the fact that it is non-alcoholic and it’s healthy|!

Does this contain preservatives? Ginger ale is a healthy drink but preservatives is something parents of children with diet restrictions should avoid. I hope you can advise me.

Juan Marco says
LOVE THIS! ^_^ I hope they’ll make it available to all supermarket & groceries. This is waaaay better than sodas out there! People are now looking for healthier beverage alternatives. This will surely dominate the market soon, might even beat the bottled green tea, this is more Filipino kasi and not to mention very refreshing! with a twist.

Is that the same as Cali?
