Skyscrapers are rising in the metro! One that has been unveiled to the public recently is Eight Forbes Town Road, a 53-storey finished condominium project by Megaworld Corp., the country’s leading real estate developer. The building is adjacent to Burgos Circle in the Fort and is part of the five-hectare township that’s called Forbes Town Center (where the Bellagio Towers, Forbeswood Heights and Forbeswood Parklane are located). Megaworld says the inspiration for the whole strip is Bugis, Singapore but with how things are shaping up, Forbes Town Center is destined to become even better.
Back to Eight Forbes Town Road: this condominium is a mixed-use complex combining food, retail, office and residential spaces. The apartment owners here must be so lucky as everything is in one place. At present, only a few shops are open like this Starbucks on the ground floor….
There’s a branch of Robinsons Selections here and it’s really good. I think it’s a new supermarket segment of Robinsons offering gourmet and deli products.
What to love: the extensive array of ready-cooked, take-out food!
There’s also an outlet of True Value, and the whole place was decked out for Christmas.
Somehow, I took a fancy to these flavored lip balms, sold for less than P100.
We’re certainly excited to see the rest of the shops in Eight Forbes Town Road! Nailganic Lounge is the fourth and last shop open right now. Those addicted to regular pampering sessions would surely like this place since they use gluten-free, all-organic products. We also dig the warm, relaxing ambiance.
The lounge only uses the Sparitual brand which is US-made and certified vegan.
Aside from the main spa area, Nailganic has private rooms for 2 where couples, close friends or families can retreat to privacy. Here, they can serve you coffee, tea or even wine.
We were able to meet the spa’s very young owner Krisha Cadiente, a med tech graduate who worked at the St. Luke’s Medical Center before deciding to go entrepreneurial.
Krisha said: ” I have always been into manicure and pedicure. At least once a week I go to a nail spa and have my nails done. It’s a girl thing I guess, a way of pampering oneself and there’s a feeling of renewed confidence one you get your nails done. Since am such a spa fanatic, I had the urge to open one myself. I thought about franchising but after a few conversations with friends, I decided that starting from scratch is a better path to take. At least I would have control over the products and the construction. First thing I needed to think of is what brand to go for, and since the youth today are more health conscious, we decided to go organic.”
Way to go. Good luck in your venture Krisha!
