DaTang is one of the posh restaurants that have opened in the Venice Piazza Grand Canal Mall. It takes you back to another era with its chic & elegant interiors. And by “another era,” we literally mean the great Tang Dynasty where DaTang got its name.
The Tang Dynasty was when Chinese civilization flourished. It was the Golden Age of Chinese poetry, food and commerce along the famed Silk Road. The food in DaTang restaurant is considered to be Chinese fusion since it combines the nostalgia of old with modern cooking techniques.
Am not really a big fan of Chinese cuisine but I have to say it’s worth trying. Here’s a preview of some of Datang’s food we sampled during their media launch:
the Soy Sauce Chicken was a good by-product of very slow cooking in a claypot…
Cold stew pork with peanut –
The Seafood Salad had a variety of textures and its dressing brought about an exciting play of flavors…
The quantity of crunchy garlic in these stir-fried ribs was just awesome, but I loved the pork meat itself for being tasty and tender.
The deep-fried chicken wings had this lovely glaze…
The Steamed Fish in Traditional Style was love. It wasn’t overcooked and had a sense of purity in it.
For the ‘after office crowd,’ Datang’s well-stocked bar provides a good option.
Aside from the Venice Piazza Grand Canal Mall, DaTang restaurant also has a branch in Forbes Town Center, Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City
