Cyrille Payumo of Pampanga may be a “replacement beauty queen” but this is not discouraging her from winning honors for the country. Cyrille is currently in the thick of preparations for the grand coronation night of the 22nd Miss Tourism International in Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Cyrille, who stands a statuesque 5’9 1/2, was first runner up in Mutya Pilipinas 2019. She revealed she had mixed emotions when she learned that she would replace Mutya Pilipinas-Miss Tourism International Tyra Goldman. Tyra’s issue was her being born in Nevada, USA and not in the Philippines, as required by pageant organizers.
We met Cyrille and Mutya Pilipinas officials during the beauty queen’s send-off at the plush showroom of CWC interiors in Bonifacio Global City. Shown in photo is Mutya Pilipinas president Cory Quirino and singer Ogie Alcasid, a member of the Mutya board of directors.
Ms Quirino expressed admiration for Cyrille for training hard and fast “in less than a month.”
“Cyrille has risen above her fears and apprehension about competing internationally. She’s ready to win and represent the country with great pride in Kuala Lumpur,” Ms. Quirino noted.
Filipino pageant fans worldwde are encouraged to support Cyrille Payumo by voting using the Star Phone app and dial *1313. The Philippines is presently ranked in 4th place in the popularity voting app.
