It was my first time at the St. James the Great bazaar (better known by its shorter name Cuenca bazaar) yesterday and I had a blast. Now I know what makes this event a famous pitstop of shopaholics from all over the metro even with its out-of-the-way location. I thought it was just across Alabang Town Center. Turns out you really have to drive all the way through the posh neighborhood of Ayala Alabang Village until you reach a far end, the so-called covered court of Cuenca St.
Parking can be a pain because of the volume of visitors. But I must say I liked the shopping selection here. Tip: rental of the bazaar tenants wasn’t too expensive, which also explains the reasonable prices of the goods. I particularly liked the stuff for the home they got, like the plates, kitchenware and decor. I could have bought more, if only they weren’t too bulky to carry around.
Some photos from this bazaar:
The stall selling Tory Burch flats, bags and flip-flops enjoyed long lines from the ladies. I don’t think they were original though coz the flats sold for only P3,500. Even so, craftsmanship wasn’t bad, unlike the Tory Burch imitation flats I saw at the 168 Mall in Divisoria 😀
More womanly stuff: accessories! I refrained from buying coz I have too many already
This beautiful bag by Christine Aguiluz caught my eye. Because of its small size, it’s not practical but it’s certainly eye-catching.
Love these antique-style luggages/compartments 🙂
Kiddie backpacks with the bonus of a stuffed toy built into the front pocket.
We got these rice bowls with a coconut shell cover for P350 a set from Zentiments, a Japanese-inspired shop from Taguig. What’s good: bought items come in much-desired native packaging.
Other things on our shopping basket: Gap boxer shorts for P200 each, knife sharpener and muffin pan from Silicone Zone, and nice-looking dolphin-shaped lamps for only P200 too.
My only complaints with this bazaar is the extreme humidity inside the tent and the jologs Christmas music blaring from the loudspeakers. But otherwise, it’s been a good shopping day at Cuenca bazaar! 😉
