The big bash announcing the launch of Cherry Mobile’s Android smartphones featured a nimble and sexily clad pole dancer. Some of us could only say “WHA??!”
It turned out to be a euphemism for something – Cherry Mobile revving up the excitement for the competition and pole vaulting its way to challenge giants like the Apple iPhone. Give credit to the fact that Cherry Mobile is one of a few Filipino-owned companies in a telecoms market dominated by global brands.
Take, for example , the Cherry Mobile Superion which is a multi-touch tablet like the iPad, but goes further with its calling abilities. It runs on the latest Android OS, Froyo 2.2 and a powerful Qualcomm MSM 7227 600 MHz processor. Its other specifications include a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, wifi, 3G/ HSDPA connectivity, GPS, a 3mp primary camera and expandable memory up to 32GB. All these at a very tempting price of P19,990.
The Magnum HD smartphone, on the other hand, is Cherry Mobile’s answer to phone models like Sony Ericsson X10, Samsung Galaxy S and HTC Desire. The only difference is that the Magnum is cheaper at a price of P18,990 and it runs on Froyo 2.2. Its other features include a gun metal finish, a large 4.1″ capacitive touchscreen, USB tethering, wifi, triband 3G and 5 megapixel camera with flash.
Lastly, the Cherry Mobile Nova is powered by a Qualcomm MSM 7227 MHz processor and Android Eclair version 2.1. It is the cheapest of the new smartphones but delivers bang for the buck with its 3.2″ touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera with flash, GPS, wifi and Google mobile services like Gmail, Maps and Marketplace. The Nova price has been pegged at P11,490. I will write more about the Nova smartphone in a future review as I won it in a raffle during launch night. Talk about lucky! 😀

Honestly…this phone will kill other smart phone in the market…cherry mobile is a good company..ill be happy to be a desiign consultant for them…i will not charge anything for my service….coz this is their only problem…everything is “mali” when it comes to design…and the pricing….konti na lang..kuha na nila ang market..palpak..

ala, android nga ang operating system eh, kelan pa nagkaroon ng MS Office for android? pero hindi ibig sabihin, di mo puedeng buksan ang anumang dokumentong gawa ng MS Office sa android dahil linux based din lang naman ito, kaya sigurado akong me application na makakagawa ng pagbasa o pagbukas ng MS Office documents…
