My most recent trip to Tagaytay was one where the drive into town was longer than my actual stay. But I didn’t mind it because Tagaytay is always worth the trip. The majestic view of the lake volcano is something that never gets old, and there’s always new eating places to discover.
One such place that I got to try recently was Meer Cafe. It is more like a hole in the wall that can serve 20 people max. But boy, it did impress us with a most delicious baby back ribs and crispy pata.
From the sauce to the bones, the ribs were finger-licking-good, and it came served with baby potatoes. Only P175 per serving.
I haven’t eaten crispy pata in six months so imagine my excitement when this came into view. It was perfect in every way , from the crispy skin to the tasty meat. Even the soy-based dipping sauce paired the pata so well. Only P325 per order.
We learned that the owners of Meer Cafe are caterers so that’s why they really know how to prepare delicious food. But one impressive thing about the place is the price. Most of their meals like the appetizers, noodle dishes, sandwiches, salads and sizzling meals go for below a hundred pesos.
They also have these candy-colored lemonades and milkshakes which the young ones will love, all the budget-friendly prices too.
Meer Cafe is on Maharlika East, Aguinaldo Highway, Tagaytay City, Philippines
There was a Yellow Cab Pizza resto in front that was overlooking the ridge so this is the landmark. You may also call them at 0925 389 2888 for directions.
