And this made my day too. Charice Pempengco’s global television debut in the pilot episode of Glee’s second season where she’s shown singing the Beyonce-Lady Gaga hit Telephone and later on “Listen” as her audition piece.

Filipinos will be proud to learn that Charice plays the role of a Filipino exchange student named Sunshine Corazon. She’s expected to pit talents with the rest of the gifted Glee Cast. But what is clearly worth celebrating is the fact that this is a major appearance of a Filipino artist on American television. After Venus Raj’s “major major” answer on Miss Universe, Charice’s Glee stint is a breath of fresh air and a chance for local talents to conquer the mainstream consciousness of America, and beyond.
