The Philippines’ very own low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific yesterday revived its One Peso seat sale dubbed ” All for Juan, P1+++ for All” to celebrate the completion of its refleeting program and the delivery of a new AirBus (or is it AirBuses?) The sale is on from March 2 to 8 and the travel period is from June 1- Dec. 15 of this year.
What’s good about this is that the single peso promo is not just applicable to their domestic destinations but also to CebuPac’s international flights to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
The one peso offer on the international flights looks one-way though as I found when I tried to book online just for the fun of it. I may get P1 going to Bangkok but get the discounted fare of P2,999 going back (plus all the applicable fees). Still, a friend swears CebuPac may be better since you don’t have to travel all the way to Clark Pampanga, unlike existing airlines stationed there, like Tiger.
I would advise that you plan your trip carefully and read the fine print first before making the advanced bookings which are, like, six months ahead. Oftentimes, the fine print is that your ticket is non-refundable and non-transferable. I remember being enticed by Cebu Pacific’s One peso promo last year where I booked for a return trip to Iloilo. It just so happened that when I was due to travel, Supertyphoon Milenyo came and there went my $40 down the drain. Phewwww!

Wow, that’s so cool! 😀
I wish they had $1 promos for flights to the Philippines. Hehe 😀

sadly, during the first few days, it was difficult to get online. i was to book a bkk-mnl-bkk trip together with my 2 other friends. one was able to get through, she paid P5,000 inclusive of insurances and taxes, while i wasn’t. when i got through yesterday, the remaining slots were all for the regular seats. the ticket is rebookable, but not refundable. in case my friend decides to move to another date, she has to pay Thai Bt1,200. moral of the story, if you go in groups, book at the same time.

@Jaypee..tall order but who knows? 😉
Sexy Mom, thanks for narrating your story. I agree, the promo is well-publicized (even among the blogs), that’s why if you’re interested, you really have to gobble up the offer fast!
Karla, something should be done about their computer or server. I swear we don’t experience these downtimes with the other (international) airlines, even if there’s a deluge of bookings.

hehe, i tried just this morning nga. i was able to get in during the first try, for a bangkok itinerary, but when i returned to the homepage, down na.
actually, i don’t know where to go. i just know i have to buy!
ajay says
Haha, yes I agree with the last statement Vina..these low ticket fares sets us off to an impulse-buying spree, much like buying for bags and shoes (??)
But with ticket prices such as these, you can afford to go to Bkk every weekend;)
Personally, I’d like to go to Jakarta… though I’d like again to go to HK and Bangkok for the shopping, to KL in order to stop over to Penang, and Sinagpore for the eating and shopping. Nakakahilo!!
