My Manila Bulletin Blog-O-Rama column this week talks about the unstoppable rise of the so-called microblogs. If you ever wonder where your favorite bloggers are, most likely you can find them in sites like Plurk & Twitter. What you can find here? Mundane details such as what we ate for lunch, gossip in cyberspace and all sorts of chatter that would otherwise be worthless in a blog. Ask me to write a movie review worth writing about and I am likely to squirm. It's quite hard choosing my words and forming them into coherent paragraphs. But somehow it all seems so ... ‘it’s a small world’ at Hong Kong Disneyland, a must-see!
I realized after our last trip that Hong Kong is indeed one of my favorite cities. It is almost a good neighbor of Manila since it's so near and there is still so much about it I want to explore in terms of food, shopping and places. But I have to admit it was quite a downer visiting Hong Kong Disneyland when it's raining. Riding the Orbitron in our raincoats wasn't exactly my idea of fun. My advice really is not to go to Hong Kong Disney during the rainy season, even though I can just imagine how crowded it is during the summer. Size-wise, I found this ... Continue Reading...
This site is (still) best viewed using Firefox….
The pain of changing Wordpress themes.... The past week saw my traffic drop tremendously after I changed my blog theme to Feedoo. For a while there, I thought my blog was hacked because I couldn't seem to access it from our office, gym (Fitness First) and the mall branch of Netopia. This site just drew a blank when I typed my URL. On the other hand, it was weird because I was able to view it from my house and some of my other friends' peecees. My web host Yuga and I got into a discussion and he surmised that it was a DNS problem with users subscribing to PLDT My ... Continue Reading...
My Sony Ericsson K800i dies on me….
I was ready to sing hallelujah's to my Sony Ericsson K800i when its much-vaunted Cybershot camera died on me a few weeks ago. Died. Kaput. Gone. These days when I press on the camera button, all that displays is a vast space of nothingness. Whatta pity since this Sony Ericsson K800i model is supposed to be my favorite cameraphone of all time. It's been my trusted companion from Quiapo to Baguio to Batanes. It has taken snapshots of everything that's caught my fancy, from a newly-steamed dimsum to sunsets to my kids laughing in glee at the sight of ice cream. ... Continue Reading...
Apple’s iPod Touch : the Z review
iPod Touch from My Sweet 2 Note: These two successive posts on the iPod Touch are part of my Blog-O-rama column last Monday entitled "She Says, He says on the iPod Touch ." MR. Z SAYS : Given a choice between an Asus EEE and an iPod Touch, the iPod had to win - love Apple’s products, and couldn’t bear to support Windoze :) The fact that I REALLY wanted to see one myself had nothing to do with my choice, I assure you. The hardest part in selecting an iPod Touch was choosing a size, and an inscription. Some selfish part of me couldn’t let you have ... Continue Reading...
