Why do I have a feeling that the new Nokia 6700 is a blogger's best friend? Okay, make it food blogger! :P Recently, we were invited to the launch of Philippine Tatler's Best Restaurants 2009 and one of the things on showcase was a life-size gallery featuring delicious photos taken by society photographer Alex van Hagen using the Nokia 6700. See the pics behind the lovely ladies. Too bad I was too busy with my old Verzio cam (incidentally my favorite for portability) and failed to test shoot the Nokia 6700. A camphone that's excellent for taking food photos ... Continue Reading...
Why is the iPhone 3G more expensive than the iPhone 3G S?
One week to go and Globe Telecoms will be making available the iPhone 3G S to its postpaid and prepaid subscribers. Am making special mention of Globe because the last time I asked at the cellphone tiangge in Robinsons Manila, they gave no indication that they'll have it handy before Globe's July 31 release to the public. Am certainly very interested in getting the new iPhone and studying my options at the moment. That is, do I subscribe to a Globe plan or just buy an unlocked unit? I've remained a prepaid subscriber all these years because I hate paying monthly ... Continue Reading...
First sighting of the iPhone 3GS in the Philippines…. w00t!
As expected, I got my first sighting of the much-coveted iPhone 3GS in the Manila Bulletin Technews Lab yesterday. Picture is kinda blurred, but that's tech editor Art Samaniego having a blast with the Apple gadget, which will be made available by Globe to the public on July 31 yet. As an Apple user, I can't help but salivate at this latest version which is touted to be two times faster than the iPhone 3G. Easily one of the highlights is the digital compass and installed software like Google Maps which will be able to tell you where your location is, and tell ... Continue Reading...
Testing out D-loads cellphone reloading business
It is common for small business owners to try other income streams to maximize business space. It is the way to survive, especially if you're paying a monthly rent or trying to find a way to augment your income. For example, the sari-sari store in our block is also selling Japanese surplus items which seems to be common these days. I was discussing with fellow blogger Wenchie since we both own laundry shops and we've agreed that we can very well sell ukay-ukay clothes too, if only we know the source, LOL. Cellphone reloading is really the easiest sideline ... Continue Reading...
Anti-theft software for your Mac/laptop
Okay, so an unsafe environment will probably make you think now about how to keep your precious laptop from disappearing in the hands of bad elements. I still have to encounter companies offering laptop and cellphone insurance in this country. The most people do is shop car insurance or get cheap life assurance quote. This is understandable, considering the high risk involved. What you can do is to probably include your gadgets as part of your home insurance, but it will probably be insured only in case of burglary in your home. Another option is to acquire secured ...
