Peeps from KFC Philippines sent me over the weekend their new product, the Cheese Top Burger. At only 50 pesos, it was both tasty and filling. Funny because I was looking for the cheese on top of the bun, as seen in the posters. It turns out, the cheese was already baked INTO the bread. So cheap and so good. Anyway, I almost choked on my KFC Cheese Top Burger when I read the Inquirer story on the 500 million Birkin scam. Netizens and cosmopolitan Manille are abuzz with the scandal where a former flight attendant-turned-arts personality dupes high society into ... Continue Reading...
Study shows dishwashing bar has highest level of contaminants
Nay gising! It's time to ditch that bar solution (soap + sponge + water) that we're fond of using for washing dishes and the like. As a mother, I have to admit that am guilty of this myself in an effort to enforce a budget in our household. It turns out that the often-used bar solution is the dirtiest item in the house. It has ten times more contaminants than a dirty sock, trash bin cover or toilet bowl. Shocking revelation but true! The facts are confirmed by no less than the Philippine Society of Microbiology. Says PSM President, Dr. Supachai Basit: " A ... Continue Reading...
Uniqlo MOA opening day
UNIQLO.... who among the fashion-crazy doesn't know Uniqlo right? This is one label I passed by while shopping (or window-shopping) in HK, Shanghai & Kuala Lumpur. But for some reason, I decided to check out the June 15 opening (that's yesterday) of the Japanese fashion label at the Mall of Asia. I had to back out. The lines were crazy. I also saw some muscular guys, obviously security. I thought they were there to escort Kris Aquino. But of course am wrong :) I made a 180-degree turn and I saw this spectacle. I never saw so many kibitzers (waiting for ... Continue Reading...
Crumpler Dry Red No. 7 review
Am no stranger to Crumpler laptop bags. It's really worth it to shell out a little more than $100 for these bags because they're well made and can stand being so ruggedly used (like being placed in the luggage compartment of a bus or thrown around the airport scanner, for example). This Crumpler briefcase from the Dry Red series was my companion for weeks (too bad it's a review unit only). I often wear a black suit to the office but I felt confident enough to lug it around. Maybe because it was a beautiful red color. I used it mostly as a handbag, but there was ... Continue Reading...
Noose, Carrot & Limpet from Crumpler
Crumpler is a brand I've always relied on for the sturdy protection of my gadgets. It's been three years already and am still using the two brightly-colored laptop bag and case from Crumpler to carry my Macbook. True that their products are a bit more expensive but you get safe portability and functionality in return. By coincidence, I was sent items of Crumpler accessories to review: a bag tag called Limpet, a pencil case named Carrot and a camera strap called Noose. All attractive names, isn't it? I welcomed this review since the Crumpler accessories line is ... Continue Reading...
