Truth to tell, I love boutique hotels more than big chain establishments. After all, being compact has its fine points. There's something personal and intimate about them. And the way they are beautifully and daintily furnished is always a gem. This is how I stumbled upon Azumi Boutique Hotel in Madrigal Business Park Alabang. Life has become so busy and I was looking forward to treat the family to a staycation within the city.Azumi's promo of P2,888 for one night's stay wasn't bad, so off I booked! Glad that front office manager, Ms. Donna Narvadez, accommodated my ... Continue Reading...
Biking at the UP campus with @travelfactor
A few weeks ago, I crossed something off my to-do list, and that is go biking at the sprawling UP Diliman campus. This was through a cycling trip arranged by Travel Factor. TF is great for when you are a couple, a group or by your lonesome. In the latter case, you don't get to feel alone being bunched together with other people, mostly young professionals. So far, I have done Ilocos Norte and Sagada with the Travel Factor in my bid to see more of the Philippines. For this biking trip, fee was only P950 inclusive of the mountain bike, bottled water, the TF Magazine ... Continue Reading...
Anilao Batangas beach resorts : Eagle Point
God only knows how beach-deprived I am! My childhood in the Visayas where our house was only two minutes from the sea is now just a dream. From Manila, I now have to drive three hours away just to have a glimpse of sand...and it's not even white :) The day before Easter, I found myself cruising the deserted highways with my three girls to get out of town. Yes, you heard it: there was no traffic in the roads and it felt surreal. I guess this happens in overcrowded Metro Manila only once a year! And how adventurous can it be when you have no hotel booking and no ... Continue Reading...
The great Aristocrat food trip….. to San Pablo, Laguna!
The Aristocrat Restaurant on Roxas Boulevard is a great city landmark, much like the Quiapo Church or Rizal Park. But the amazement goes a notch higher when am faced with its year of birth : it was put up in 1936 which means it was there before the Second World War. If you're looking for the oldest full-service restaurant chain in Manila, look no further. This is it! Being in the business for so long and still drawing crowds day after day can only mean one thing: this restaurant serves consistently good food. For instance, I don't mind eating that ... In Seoul: NANTA show + Trickeye Museum
I was really excited to see Seoul but I did not take too many photos. That was because the temperature was -2 degrees on the weekend of my visit and of course, my hands were in thick gloves that made it cumbersome to use the camera. Being from a tropical country, I welcomed the cold weather though! It was surprisingly bearable, not the biting kind...it helps to be all dressed up for it :) So what to do when stuck in chilly Seoul in February? Head indoors, of course. Chill in the countless coffeeshops that dot the city or visit unique attractions that doesn't require ... Continue Reading...
