Can't believe I've visited Bangkok twice in a span of two months! So nice to rediscover the sights, sounds and tastes of this city. I don't have much affection for their road conditions and traffic, which is so much like Manila, but I certainly want to explore more of the food and the shopping! Hotel rooms in Vietnam and Cambodia are still cheaper but the ones in Bangkok can also compete with the price and generosity of space. Last July, my daughters and I spent two nights in the city prior to our vacation at the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel in Pattaya. I booked a room ... Continue Reading...
Costa Pacifica Baler weekend!
Baler in Aurora, Province has been on my wishlist of places to go to in the Philippines for sometime. I would silently envy my friends whenever I see them on FB with their tanned bodies, holding their surf boards and enjoying the beach. But fate has a way of making your dreams come true. In my case, I wasn't only able to explore Baler last weekend, we also stayed in the best resort in town: Costa Pacifica. I can't tell you enough how beautiful and picturesque Costa Pacifica is. Its homey, island design blended seamlessly with the natural environment to ... Continue Reading...
Cartoon Network Amazone water park in Pattaya
Our visit to Cartoon Network Amazone was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Pattaya, Thailand. It was part of Royal Cliff Beach Hotel's Stay and Play package which guests and families can avail of when they check in.The package includes stay in a suite room, VIP passes to the water park with special discounts on the purchase of food, beverage and items in the retail shop, among other benefits. There was a van transfer to the water park at the rate of only 100 baht per person. I found this very convenient since the park was a few kilometers away from Royal ... Continue Reading...
Our Royal Cliff Beach Hotel family holiday in Pattaya (part 2)
Can you imagine, we went to Thailand not being able to shop at all? I guess that's what you get for staying in a resort that's far from the madding crowd. But am not complaining. Especially as I saw my kids very happy and I got my much-needed relaxation with a capital R! :) We were assigned this Mini Suite Sea View Plus room which was approximately 40 sq.m. but more than enough for us. There was a king-size bed but Dionne, my older daughter, preferred to sleep on the couch. While the other rooms in the property had a mountain view, the best part was our ... Continue Reading...
Hello Kitty House & cafe in Bangkok
The long weekend just passed by and by a stroke of fate, two of my daughters & I found ourselves traipsing Bangkok and Pattaya in a span of three nights and four days. Congrats to my daughter Dionne for completing Country No. 3 (Thailand) and to our little Lucia for her first plane ride :) What to do when you're in Bangkok for less than 40 hours? We forgot about the temples and made the beeline to Hello Kitty House! Thankfully, this was so easy to find since all we did was alight at the Siam station of the city's sky train. A giant Kitty figure greeted us at the ... Continue Reading...
