I sorely needed an excuse to go to the island-paradise of Bali. For starters, I haven't been to Indonesia...and Bali is the place to be, for sure! So when my friend Emilie, a licensed Zumba instructor, invited me to join her for the Bali Fitness Weekend, I said 'go!' without hesitation. Holiday plus a fitness weekend where all you do is exercise wasn't such a bad idea. In fact, it's like hitting two birds with one stone! :) A little background: I really enjoyed going to Zumba classes this year. As I've found out in indoor cycling, working out with a group is the ... Continue Reading...
Sky Studio at Solaire: our best hotel room in Manila for 2015!
As a traveller, I rely on hotel review sites, blogs and even Facebook to check out places whenever I go to a new destination. But nothing beats word-of-mouth or the feedback I hear from friends. If their recommendation is positive and it's within my budget, then I go for it! My curiosity certainly got piqued when a friend - whose family owns a popular restaurant chain in Manila - was gushing about the hotel rooms in Solaire Resort & Casino. She told me how the rooms are materiales fuertes (of top quality) and how they've always liked staying there. Since my ... Continue Reading...
Costa Pacifica Baler weekend!
Baler in Aurora, Province has been on my wishlist of places to go to in the Philippines for sometime. I would silently envy my friends whenever I see them on FB with their tanned bodies, holding their surf boards and enjoying the beach. But fate has a way of making your dreams come true. In my case, I wasn't only able to explore Baler last weekend, we also stayed in the best resort in town: Costa Pacifica. I can't tell you enough how beautiful and picturesque Costa Pacifica is. Its homey, island design blended seamlessly with the natural environment to ... Continue Reading...
Our Royal Cliff Beach Hotel family holiday in Pattaya (part 2)
Can you imagine, we went to Thailand not being able to shop at all? I guess that's what you get for staying in a resort that's far from the madding crowd. But am not complaining. Especially as I saw my kids very happy and I got my much-needed relaxation with a capital R! :) We were assigned this Mini Suite Sea View Plus room which was approximately 40 sq.m. but more than enough for us. There was a king-size bed but Dionne, my older daughter, preferred to sleep on the couch. While the other rooms in the property had a mountain view, the best part was our ... Continue Reading...
In Pattaya: a family holiday at Royal Cliff Beach Hotel
We only stayed for one day and two nights in Bangkok during the last vacation to Thailand. The real purpose of our trip was to check out The Royal Cliff Beach Hotel where I got an invite to stay at their Mini Suite Sea View Plus accommodations. Frankly, I didn't know what to expect.I had this image of Pattaya where men spend time to have fun, and it's not the wholesome kind :) My first impression of the place would be shattered because the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel was where we spent a truly wonderful family holiday! We were off to a good start when our limo ... Continue Reading...
