I love, love reading Trip Advisor reviews. In fact, making published notes of all the hotels I've stayed in (all-expenses paid and those I paid for!) is high on my must-do list. I just dig how guests become so candid, if a service dissatisfies them, or how they glow with praises if they're happy with their accommodations. Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan
If you go to Taiwan, don't just linger in Taipei. Make an effort to ride their high-speed trains and wander in the outskirts where one can marvel in Taiwan's countryside beauty. Sun Moon Lake in Nantou County was particularly beautiful and as charming as its name. I would recommend it for couples taking their honeymoon, or people just wanting some peace and quiet. How to apply for a Taiwan visa
One of the things that made my recent overseas trip harder than usual was compiling documentary requirements for the Taiwan visa. The last time I did so was for a trip to Japan in 2005. I've also gotten so used to travelling around Southeast Asia where getting around (luckily) doesn't require a visa for Filipinos.
