Because we hardly eat red meat at home, hubby and I unconsciously find ourselves on a mission to try the best steak places in Manila. The last one we had was at the Rotisserie of the Manila Pavilion Hotel - still one of the best, classic places to have a mind-numbingly good steak in this part of town. On this weekend, we find ourselves in Power Plant Mall to check out the shops and when time to munch came, I said: "Let's go to Bistecca." All right, we've bought too many diapers this month, and I told the hubs we can always retreat should Bistecca prove to be too ... Continue Reading...

Even with the abundance of restaurants serving Filipino cuisine around, Barrio Fiesta is a favorite mainstay. I think there's no pairing more classic than crispy pata and kare-kare - it's exactly the two specialties they've built their business on. Alas, a recent visit to a Barrio Fiesta branch in ... Dayrit’s : revisiting an old favorite
Our baby is now two months old! We regularly visit her pedia and it's good that the clinic is located in a little-known foodie destination called Paseo de Magallanes. We tried Bob's in Paseo before and this time around, it was my turn to revisit the familiar old tastes of Dayrit's - one of Manila's original burger joints. Dayrit's only now has two remaining branches - Magallanes and The Fort (see end of this post for the complete address). Their main branch in Magallanes is supremely no-frills. However, it easily gets filled during peak hours with people craving ... Continue Reading...
Amoroma : best Italian resto in Tagaytay
I was never able to visit the much-acclaimed Italian resto Amoroma all the time it was in Alabang. That old place is closed, and now am glad this "best-kept secret resto" has permanently settled in Tagaytay. You'll see it if you use the Sta. Rosa Road. It now even boasts of a bed and breakfast! ... Continue Reading...
