Black Canyon Coffee opens later (June 22) at the SM Southmall and they're giving away the ultimate treat: a year's supply of coffee for their first guest. If that's not enough to entice South-based coffeeholics (like me), I don't know what will. All you need to know is to find out what time the doors open & mention that you saw the promo in my blog (ahem!). Black Canyon Coffee is an international chain that started in Thailand and can also be found in Indonesia, Singapore and other locations in Asia. We are certainly excited to try not just their coffee ... Continue Reading...
Asian Noodle Co. by Chef Off – Macapagal Boulevard
Macapagal Boulevard is known these days as the area where you apply for your passport and/or drive with care because there's a 60kph speed limit in force. But I bet that this will be the "in" place in two years' time because of the four or five world class gaming resorts slash casinos that will open, including another Resorts World. In the meantime, let me tell you about my favorite restaurant at the moment.I like going here because it busts my hunger without breaking the bank. Plus, they have the most flavorful sauces for their food! Welcome the Asian Noodle ... Continue Reading...
Phat Wong Asian Cafe, Makati
Phat Wong Asian Cafe on Nicanor Garcia St. in Bel-Air, Makati has been on my list of must-try restaurants. This is the reason why we found ourselves here on a rainy Thursday to catch the last day of a Deal Grocer promotion: only P150 for P300 worth of food in Chef Ariel Manuel's Asian-themed eatery (he's more known for fine dining at Lolo Dad's). Frankly, I thought my coupon would only get me as far as ordering one appetizer, but this was not the case. There were a lot of reasonably-priced items which makes this place great for snacking, especially when you find ... Continue Reading...
Postscript to Yummy Eats 2012: thanks for visiting our booth!
The Chicken Delish kitchen was up to a ginormous challenge for Yummy Eats 2012 (held recently in Rockwell Tent): prepare food for 1,200 people. For a fledgling food purveyor like us, I thought at first that this was something that couldn't be done but my philosophy eventually turned out to be "just go with it!" It was certainly a great consolation to see our name up there in this marker - It didn't matter that I worked the graveyard shift the night before and was sleepless for 38 hours by the time the event finished at 9 pm. Participating in a major food ... Continue Reading...
‘Cue Modern Barbecue in Bonifacio High Street Central
'Cue is one of the successful restaurants in BHS Central at the moment. It gets packed, even on weekdays. We hear it from sources that 'Cue is owned by first-time restaurateurs. This convinces me of the fact that great-tasting food & good menu selection is the key! Warning! Don't go to 'Cue if you're a vegetarian or just starting your Cohen diet. You'll definitely suffer :) 'Cue is for die-hard carnivores (read: can't live without meat) and families or big groups who want to relish their comfort food like finger-lickin' ribs and more! Proof of the fact that ... Continue Reading...
