I simply had to smile (and take a second look!) when I saw this product in Shopwise a few months ago. The label said Bread Spread but it was packaged in what looked like a shampoo/conditioner container. There's no way this thing is getting into my bathroom. Or else I'd surely feel the urge to squirt the container and then my hair will smell like pesto :) At only P75, McCormick Bread Spread is cheaper than a bottle of conditioner. Months after I spotted it in the grocery, am glad to say that I've tasted all three variants. Garlic tastes like the real thing. Pesto ... Continue Reading...
Late night chow at Sensei Sushi Bar
I was ready to ignore this sushi bar in BF Homes Paranaque until I read something about it. I knew the spot since it used to be occupied by Serenitea, until the latter got bigger and moved to a more spacious location. Anyway, this Sensei looked dark yet welcoming. Hubby doesn't like it when the menu doesn't have pictures of the food, but I love how this blackboard made me feel like I was ordering food from the classroom :) Add to this a library. If I owned this resto, I'd get nervous if diners squirreled away any of my cookbooks. On the table: ... Continue Reading...
J. Co Donuts opens at Greenbelt 3
The delectable J. Co Donuts opened its first branch at SM Megamall last March and I wished then that they would open in an area nearer where we lived. My prayers were answered with the opening of their store at the Mall of Asia and now their newest branch at the third floor of Greenbelt 3. The yummy goodness of their signature donuts, frozen yogurt & creative array of drinks is just an arm's length away. Watch out for the unveiling SOON! of J. Co stores in Trinoma, Alabang Town Center, Eastwood City and SM Fairview. I just can't have enough of J. Co treats which ... Continue Reading...
A taste of Black Canyon Coffee @ SM Southmall
I announced before the opening of Black Canyon Coffee in SM Southmall & yesterday I was glad to finally try it (after braving the rain & heavy traffic in Alabang-Zapote Road... ouch!) For a coffeeshop, the interiors were quite elegant and spacious. People in the South are lucky to have another place to hang out in ... the area is in The Food Strip of Southmall which is awash with new restaurants. You gotta love the menu when it says ssomething like this. Go ahead, feed my addiction :) ... Continue Reading...
Electricity cost & a Pinoy Eats World dinner
The bad news: cost of electricity went up as of the last Meralco billing. Good thing gas prices are going down. Here's one thing I can share to fellow mommies who are always tracking the budget: using an induction cooker is as economical and as energy-efficient as using an LPG stove. It is also safer since it doesn't pose a fire hazard, unlike an LPG-powered unit. If you live in a condo, this is a must! This handy tip I got from Meralco people themselves who organized an intimate get-together centered on induction cooking. Venue was the secret Makati location of ... Continue Reading...
