A few Sundays ago, we were invited to a baptismal party at the legendary Aristocrat Restaurant in Roxas Boulevard. It was something new to me because I've only thought of Aristocrat as an eating place. An unfair impression, I know, as the resto is reasonably huge. It can very well host weddings, debuts, baptismals, birthdays , reunions and other special events that Filipinos are so fond of :) The Engracia Halls (name for the functions rooms) were already full when we arrived. It was festooned with all sorts of colorful balloons and decorations for the warm welcome to ... Continue Reading...
in Katipunan: Tokyo Bubble Tea + Honeybee Patisserie!
As a Southern belle, I really don't mind going to the far North if it means checking out a place I haven't tried. After the biking trip around UP campus, I cruised around Katipunan Avenue which is a whirl of cozy coffeeshops and restos, some of which can only be found here! (Hmmm, I obviously didn't hang out or study in UP, Ateneo or Miriam - being from the Dominican university in Sampaloc, haha). One traffic-less Sunday along C5 road found me entering this cool-looking building on Katipunan: Tokyo Bubble Tea which also shares the same spot as Honeybee Patisserie. ... Continue Reading...
Chef Bruce Lim’s Creamy Adobo Pasta recipe @ElectroluxPH housewarming
A few weeks ago, we were invited to a "housewarming party" to celebrate the new office of Electrolux Philippines at the W Bldg. on 5th Avenue in Bonifacio Global City (take note: there are so many W buildings in BGC!) The kitchen was to die-for because it showcased the latest in Electrolux appliances including their flame-less induction ranges, power blenders and built-in microwave ovens. A highlight of the party was a cooking demo by the brand's newest endorsers to kick off Electrolux's Delightful-E Yummy campaign. And one of them was noted chef Bruce Lim ... Continue Reading...
Kyochon now in the Philippines … our first taste! @kyochonPH
Kyochon, the Korean fried chicken brand which has gone global (it has a branch in Manhattan) quietly opened at SM Megamall Building B last April 29. Being the K.F.C. lover, I was really excited to sample their specialties and how it fares with the competitors. First things first, the interiors are a winner. Wood meets industrial elements and it's easy on the eye. The Kyochon space in Megamall isn't that big, but they made good use of the space. Note the giant LED TV in the middle. The main event, of course, was tasting the real Kyochon chicken. We tasted ... Continue Reading...
New pizzeria look by @greenwichpizza!
We're lovin' the new look of Greenwich Pizza which can be previewed at its store in SM North Edsa. It's totally different from what we see now in Greenwich branches. Quaint touches of green are still there, but there are now wood and brick elements which one can see in traditional pizzerias. A combination of cool, classy and homey, contemporary and country. You will love bonding here with the barkada! To celebrate the revamped interiors of Greenwich, they called in a handsome special guest. Too bad I missed John Lloyd Cruz who looked tanned and thinner! I ... Continue Reading...
