It's always nice discovering cozy coffeeshops in the city and the latest we've stepped into is Tasty Tucker Cafe. It has 5 branches in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces. All are located beside HMR Philippines surplus stores because they have the same Australian owner. Tasty Tucker Down Under means Delicious Food because tucker means food. I did research that :) For my initial foray in Tasty Tucker, I visited their restaurant in Pioneer corner Reliance St. Mandaluyong. What immediately stood out were the solid brown wooden tables and chairs which made the ... Continue Reading...
Make snacking fun with #StarFairyBread
I remember when I was a child: toasted bread slathered with Star Margarine then sprinkled with lots of sugar was my favorite snack of all time. Oh boy, I could eat lots of those. If all that talk about Star Margarine making you grow taller was true, then am probably a testament as am not petite, lol. Fast forward to 2016, am glad our fave Star Margarine food hack has levelled up because each purchase now comes with these colorful sprinkles in four designs. All you need is bread plus the Star Fairy Bread pack and you're ready to go! Am glad when a food package ... Continue Reading...
Germany’s No. 1 honey, Langnese, is now in the Philippines!
The benefits of honey has always been cited by experts. I view it myself as the healthy sugar since it's produced by nature. There are many flavors of honey, and their color and taste is an indicator of the type of flower nectar collected by the bees. Honey lovers know Langnese as a high-quality brand from Germany. The good news is that it's now available in the Philippines, thanks to Fly Ace Corporation. There are now five delicious and nutritious flavors available in the market. Acacia has a subtle and mildly sweet taste. It's the perfect sweetener at ... Continue Reading...

The coming Chinese New Year 2017 will surely be a big event for the Filipino-Chinese community in Manila, as it is with the rest of Asia. It's amazing how this holiday will revolve around food, hence the relevance of the phrase Kung Hei FAT Choi, lol. Our favorite Lung Hin, the Chinese restaurant of Marco Polo Ortigas Manila will surely be crowded on the day as it has a long list of regulars. Executive Chinese Chef Raymond Yeung calls his Lunar New Year line up the Yin and Yang menu because it balances the good and bad, rich and healthy aspects of the food. He's ... Continue Reading...
Tried and tasted: @McDo_PH Mushroom Pepper Steak
There are three major kinds of food I seem to be eating these days: home cooked food (prepared by me or the yaya), luxe food (see my previous article on China Blue at Conrad Manila) and fastfood! Any mom can relate to the fact that we can't escape the latter. Fastfood is considered by our kids as belonging to the major food groups, alongside apple and milk :) Anyway, am no purist. There's no supply of soda and junk snacks at home but when we're at the mall, I easily give in to my kids when they say they want burger and fries. No reason to deprive them of life's ...
