We might not realize it but the world is taking notice of the Philippines… from our beauty queens to our topnotch artists and boxing legends like Manny Pacquiao. Tourists from other continents are starting to get here in droves because word has spread about our scenic attractions like El Nido, Siquijor and all those other exotic islands. Indeed, this is the best time to take pride in our beloved country.
Along with international interest in what we have to offer, am glad there’s now a line of juice drinks made from native fruits which represent the true flavors of the Philippines. Am talking of this brand aptly called Locally which I have seen on the shelves of major convenience stores. They have the coolest packaging and the funniest names for their variants….
Aside from Calamansi’z The Day and You’ve Dalandan It Again, Locally’s other flavors are:
Mangosteenie Miney Mo
Save the Best for Sineguelast
Guyabano-body But You
Pomelong & Lasting Love and…
Tamarind my Bell. Cute no?
Locally also now has its own coconut juice line called Merci Buco. It is gluten-free, USDA-approved and is the first eco-certified organic cocowater in the market. It boasts of fun flavors like the original buco drink mixed with pandan or lychee.
During the launch of Locally held in Bonifacio Global City, group product manager Gretchen King said: “Each of our flavours is created from natural, homegrown fruits sourced from different parts of the country — there’s the tamarind from Central and Southern Luzon, Mangosteen from Davao, and Calamansi from Isabela, among others. We aim to raise awareness and appreciation of our local produce, and in turn, support Filipino farmers and the farming community.”
It’s all for a noble cause indeed. And this is why Locally gets our thumbs-up!
Locally drinks are produced by NutriAsia. Prices are P30.95 for bottled juices and only P24.50 for cans. For the Merci Buco line, the tetra packs are P34.45 for 330mL and P91.95 for 1 liter. For more information, like or visit @LocallyPH on Instagram and Facebook.
