For a limited time this holiday season, IHOP Philippines is adding a Filipino touch to their scrumptious international offerings.
The girls and I were at the IHOP Mall of Asia branch yesterday, tried the Bibingka Pancake (P225) which was served atop a banana leaf, and liked it.This one differs from the traditional Pinoy rice cake in terms of flour used. There’s a twist to the usual recipe with the addition of muscovado sugar in between the pancakes. Toppings include whole duck eggs, shredded parmesan, cheddar cheese and dessicated coconut. Definitely worth trying when you dine at IHOP this season.
The pancake is best served with the Malagos Hot Chocolate (P145) which uses all-natural, single origin beans grown and harvested by Davao farmers. I don’t know if something was missing in the preparation, but the drink was sort of diluted and not too chocolatey. I prefer my hot choco to be rich and have a certain degree of viscosity 😉
Daughter had Dulce de Leche Pancake (P255) which was filled with sliced fresh bananas, then spread with dulce de leche and drizzled with dark chocolate syrup. A topping of whipped cream completed this yummy treat.
I opted for this pasta with alfredo sauce (P325). Could be made more tasty, and the chicken fillet on top should have been seasoned with salt and pepper too. The garlic bread on the side was awesome & hefty though 🙂
Aside from their regular fare of pancakes, salads, omelets, fried chicken and steaks, IHOP Manila is also introducing new items to make their menu more extensive:
Western Hash Brown Burger has hash browns, American cheese, tomatoes, and bacon.
Philly Cheese Steak Burger – the classic Southern burger with provolone cheese, Philly meat, green bell pepper, onions, mushroom, and red potato seasoning.
Cheesy Mac Burger – burger with Mac & Cheese, bacon, lettuce leaf, dill pickle and generous dollop of cheese sauce.
Sunrise Burger has sun dried tomato pesto, red onion rings, American cheese, and sunny side up egg.
Bread and Butter Pudding – a thick slice of warm bread pudding topped with a rich drizzle of banana caramel sauce, vanilla sauce, honey pecan nuts, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Stuffed and Rolled Chocolate Crepe is filled with cream cheese and choco hazelnut spread, then topped with vanilla sauce, dark chocolate syrup, chocolate chips, a side of strawberries, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
IHOP presently has six branches in Metro Manila and these are in: Bonifacio Global City, UP Town Center in Katipunan Avenue, SM Mall of Asia, Century City Mall in Makati, Filinvest City in Alabang, and Araneta Center. A seventh branch will open soon in Ayala Fairview Terraces.
