A bevy of 30 girls competed in yesterday’s Bb. Pilipinas grand finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Bb. Pilipinas is considered the mother of all beauty pageants in the country and much-awaited by all (especially our gay friends). Proclaimed the fairest of them all as Miss Universe Philippines was 22-year old Janine Marie Tugonon from Balanga, Bataan.
Janine only placed 1st runner-up to her predecessor Shamcey Supsup in the 2011 Bb. Pilipinas pageant. But like Shamcey, Janine also boasts of beauty and brains, having graduated cum laude in her B.S. Pharmacy course at the University of Santo Tomas and also placing in the 2010 pharmacy board.
Congratulations to the rest of the Bb. Pilipinas 2012 winners:
Binibining Pilipinas – Tourism : Katrina Jayne Dimaranan
Binibining Pilipinas – International: Nicole Schmitz
1st Runner-Up : Elaine Kay Moll
2nd Runner-Up : Annalie Forbes
The Bb. Pilipinas 2012 coronation night was hosted by Georgina Wilson, Iza Calzado, Xian Lim and Bb. Pilipinas 2010 Venus Raj. The crowning of the winners comes on the heels of the announcement by the Miss Universe Organization headed by Donald Trump that it will now allow transgender women to compete, citing the case of Jenna Talackova who previously had a sex change operation and was allowed to compete for Miss Canada.

she’s from ORION, BATAAN not BALANGA
Napoleon Nalcot says
Ms. Tugonon deserves the crown to represent our country to the whole world as well as to reflect the psyche of what is a modern Filipina who keeps the balance between human liberty and doing God’s will.
