I was excited to join the Avida Food Hunt because I’ve never really explored the eateries within the perimeter of the De La Salle University Campus. For this food tour, we even had our own bus and I, the UST alumnus, was seated beside Melody, an Atenista 🙂
Chef JJ Yulo of Pinoy Eats World, purveyor of Manila’s guerilla dinners, was our tour guide for the day.
He told us that the Agno Food Court (reportedly owned by tycoon Danding Cojuangco) is one of the La Sallistas’ popular pit stops. Nothing special about the place, but they have a well-curated line up of cheap meals for students on the go. Among the stalls we spotted were Fruitas, Plato Wraps and never-ending dimsum.
Apparently, this bacsilog is one of the in-demand food items in the food court (‘bac’ for bacon, not bacteria, LOL). Didn’t find anything fantastic with the ‘cheese Knorr’ on top (some cheesy sauce with Knorr seasoning) but it seems a lot of students go ga-ga with this. Besides, it’s only P85.
At Ate Rica’s Bacsilogan, the cook fries a lot of the bacon. And to think school’s not even open yet.
Up next was Rap Steaks & Cakes in Dagohoy St.Malate.Their 330 gram Porterhouse Steak cost only P225 with rice and vegetable sidings. It tastes best with the resto’s signature bordelaise sauce made from bone marrow.
The Black & White Cafeteria along Taft Avenue is just beside the soon-to-be erected Avida Prime Tower condominium. The place is airy and bright and they offer these really cheap meals that start at P55.
We were served this filling bacon cheeseburger with the delicious iced tea and it all amounted to a little less than P120.
Our last stop was the lovely Cafe Noriter which I featured previously in this post . It still looked the same from the last time and I would never get tired hanging out here. This coffeeshop makes me wish I was just living in the area!

I like your blog
I have a food blog on blogger and I would like to add a option to make it easy for people to print my recipes. Any help? I have looked at the few places the net has up but they do not seem to be good nor work. Thank you..
