I feel surreal today. To the outside world, I am the harassed single mom who can't be bothered with anything as I am perceived to be so busy already. But there are exceptions to the rule such as when friends text me their major and not-so-major problems, with the hope that I can help them.I do appreciate this as it makes me more human (not the can't-be-bothered superwoman.) But at the same time I feel frstrated that I can only do so much as provide moral/psychological support. This makes me wish that I am remotely related to Bill Gates or at the very least, Ate ... Merry, Happy, Full!
newyears' dinnerOriginally uploaded by annalyn. I've never really liked New Year's celebrations because I dread the sounds of firecrackers on the streets. In fact this time I wanted to check in a hotel with the whole family just so I can have it in peace and quiet. However, a friend said New Year's feng shui required that I stay at home, open all the windows to bring in luck, wear a polka-dotted dress and lay out all the food on the table. So I did!It turned out to be enjoyable. My son slept through the fireworks but the twins and me had fun dancing after the clock ... Continue Reading...
When Pinoy Bloggers Meet
... and so it came to pass that I finally got to meet my fellow Pinoy bloggers in a post- Christmas Party held last December 30 at the Cabalen restaurant of SM Megamall (with a hop-over to Star Bucks after that). No threat of storms, tsunamis or LRT bombing attacks could have prevented me from skipping this event. I was simply too excited to meet my online palsTito Rolly and Dr. Emer who I've been corresponding with through emails, comments and the occasional text messages. It was good to know that they - and everyone else, I should say - were as nice in person as they ... Continue Reading...

A Moment of Prayer
The reason why I have not been so happy this year is that there were many people I knew who died. Fortunately, none were my relatives but it is still sad if you think how you are not going to see them forever. How can somebody so full of life and who you were just eating lunch with be suffering from cancer the next? There is, of course, the Asian tsunami. The extent of this tragedy is simply mind-boggling and it's heartrending to note that a third of those who died- according to reports - were children. Tragedies such as these once again make me realize how ephemeral ... Continue Reading...
