Ever since reading last year the Bergdorf Blondes, I've been obsessed with getting a Brazilian Wax and am glad I was finally able to find time last night. The Brazilian was something that mystified me and this time being a summer, it is absolutely a must! However, the procedure is not really cheap and it's not something that is offered by every spa in Manila. I had to choose between the Oasis in Hyatt and Sanctuario, which are both found in Malate. Notes on the Pinoy as a Traveller
1. The 'pasalubong' is king. Admit it, there's nothing more Pinoy than our pasalubong (take home) mentality. Am not saying it's negative, I just find it amusing that there are some things my family or friends associate with a certain place and they expect you to bring it home when you go a-travelling, be it otap from Cebu, bangus from Pangasinan, buko pie from Laguna, pili nut from Bicol or even giant crabs from Palawan. I told my eight-year old son that if he wants to, I can enroll him and his sisters to the McDonalds Kiddie Camp this summer. It's a five-day training workshop where they teach kids six to 12 years old the rudiments of working at McDonald's, the fun way of course.
