The blogging doctor TessTermulo over at Prudence and Madness asks me some questions that matter: Q. What are the 5 books that made great impact in your life? Catcher In The Rye by JD Salinger Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky (these first two were my favorites in high school) Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere (I simply believe our national hero is brilliant) Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom most works by Paulo Coelho ugh! sorry no Harry Potter... iPhone at first sight: it’s aaaahmazing!
Me with the iPhone. Liveblogging here at the Manila Bulletin Technews office and I still can't get over laying my dainty hands on the much-heralded 8GB (!) Apple iPhone . Everyone who's held it is right, you hold the iPhone and it immediately elicits a "wow!" not to mention irrepressible "ooh's" and "aahs." As I remain in a state of awe, let me just give a quick rundown of my memorable first impressions with the Apple iPhone: 1. Form factor is super sleek, it's in fact a better looker than the iPod. It's thin in size and if you're looking for a ... Continue Reading...
Jakarta: halal Indonesian food in the heart of Manila
Jakarta food in Manila. I have never been anywhere near Indonesia but the thought of vicariously tasting their cuisine is something I will never say "no" to. It just so happened that there's an Indonesian resto at the far end of our Malate street. I have been eyeing the place for months and in fact entered one time, just to look at the bar and the rest of its cozy surroundings. Having found the menu interesting, I finally convinced a dinner companion to give the place a try. Our verdict: this is one resto you could indulge your appetite in, even ... Continue Reading...

Tune Hotel. I'll try staying at Tunehotels.com the next time I am in KL because it's cheap, and the fact that its sister-company is Air Asia could only mean it's very very cheap :D The adverts say one can get a room for as low as 10 ringgit (which translates to roughly P130 pesos or a little more than $2) That's certainly not bad for 20 hours of stay if you're backpacking or travelling on a budget. The hotel concept i something that's not been explored much actually, and it borrows from Air Asia's premise of being a "no-frills" facility. Browsing ... Continue Reading...
Friendster vs. Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn etc.
Fix.jpg. It's official: Friendster is so 2003. It's like living in a time warp with all the jologs people in the universe :D I realized this while having lunch with my brother last Saturday. I asked him to tell my niece (his daughter) why she hasn't accepted my Friend Request, pending for the longest time. He tells him she's hanging out in MySpace. It has been a long time since I've taken a serious jab at the dating sites and all these social networking things. I don't have a dime of a time to spare in the world and am not necessarily looking. The ... Continue Reading...
