Half-British, half Filipina actress and model Rachel Grant played a supporting Bond Girl to Pierce Brosnan in Die Another Day. She remains busy with her showbiz career and shuttles between LA and New York for her engagements. Meeting her at the Peninsula Manila this week, I was quite in awe as it was my first time to meet somebody from Hollywood. I was quite distracted with the huge sunflower accent on her dress which she sewed herself. It was good that she looked every inch kind and friendly 😀
Showbiz stars are known for their multi-million peso endorsements. But Rachel is different because she is endorsing Filipino beauty and body care brand Human Nature for free. She even flew into town on economy class just so she can make her pitch for Human Nature and be in the country where she was born again. Her mother, Isabel, is a Filipina who runs a charitable foundation of her own.
Human Nature boasts of a wide range of beauty products that are 100% environmentally friendly. They’re also proudly Philippine made which explains why they’re not as expensive as foreign brands. Most of all, they help farming communities wherever the products are sourced from. Impressive indeed to hear about the Human Nature story from the owners themselves – Camille Meloto and couple Dylan and Anne Meloto Wilk who are all active in Gawad Kalinga, the movement which transforms Philippine slum communities into beautiful, sustainable places to live in.
Hear it from Rachel: apparently, she bought the Human Nature hair mask in a weekend bazaar on her last visit to the Philippines and found out that it was the best thing ever. She left an innocent comment on the Human Heart Nature website . The owners were able to find out who she was in no time and they immediately chose her to be a brand ambassador.
My make-up dresser is a mess, but am dying to try their products soon. Their citronella bug spray is a must these days due to dengue, their sunflower oil looks like a good alternative to expensive eye creams, the shampoos look fab and beauty enthusiasts are of course excited with the launch of Love Minerals, their all-natural make-up line. The complete line-up of products can be found on the Human Nature catalogue in the shopping site.
More power to Human Nature! 😉

Wow! Did you really meet her? That’s nice. Thanks. This was a nice article. Good to know she is also a Filipino.

Hi Noel. Thanks. Rachel was prettier in person (than in my pictures) and it’s good that she’s proud of her Pinoy heritage 😉

I was at the Human Nature summit when Suzi Entrata asked Rachel onstage how she got to know about Human Nature. Rachel said her aunt brought her to Legazpi Sunday Market in Makati where she bought a lot of Human Nature products. She even mentioned that the lady selling had to get more goods from her home because she needed to buy more. As I was listening to Rachel, I realized that the lady she was referring to was me. I told myself, “Oh my gosh, I was face to face with Rachel Grant and I never had a clue that I was dealing with her!” She was simply dressed at that time with no make up at all:-)
