A mother’s work is never done

I dedicate this special day to my mother who is my role model in this lonely journey called “single parenthood.” I figure that if she could raise five kids with her sanity intact, I could do it too.

MY hats off also to the millions of women who have to grapple daily with their parenting struggles while being a wife, lover, worker, student,friend. May our hearts find consolation in the fact that there’s no greater joy than giving love and getting love unconditionally in return.

Who gives birth
Cleans up messes
Kisses dirty faces
Makes thousands of peanut butter sandwiches
And says no more often than yes

Who acts as chauffeur
Personal secretary
And general contractor
Housebreaks and feeds the dog
Hunts for numerous articles
And hurts when her child is hurt
