The school holidays in some parts of the world are finally here and for many people this means that you will be preparing to jet
off on your holidays very, very soon!
With a little bit of careful pre-planning, there are lots of things you can do to ensure that you don’t have to go through any pre-holiday stresses and that horrible anxiety that comes along with it. Of course, there are lots of essential things that you need to remember before going on holiday such as ensuring your passport is in date, that you have the appropriate visas to get into the country, you have adequate vaccinations and so on so forth.
However, there are a few other things that you may have forgotten about that you will also need to ensure that you do before heading off to the airport. Here, we are taking you through what these are, so you do not end up being caught out!
PETS
This one won’t apply to everyone, but it is a very important one to remember. Before going on holiday, you will need to make sure you have adequate arrangements in place for someone to care
for your pets. This could be a paid for service or simply with your friends or family. Our pets are members of our family, so knowing that they are being well cared for will give you the peace of mind that you need and you can enjoy your holiday without worrying too much about them.
PLANTS
As well as making sure your pets are well looked after, it is also important that you ensure your plants are looked after too! Before you leave to go on your holiday, make sure to water your plants
and if they are plants that need an extra little bit of TLC, you may want to see if a neighbour or family member can pop in from time to time to give them a water too.
CAR PARKING
Have you figured out yet how you are going to get to the airport? Taking your own car is the easiest way to do this and it means there is no waiting around afterwards for a friend, family member, taxi or public transport. It really is the best, non-stressful way to get to the airport before your holiday.
Airport car parking does not have to be expensive as long as you book it in advance. There are obviously a range of options available. Different car parks will offer different services. Check out Birmingham Airport Car Park 5 at Birmingham Parking to get the best deals on your airport car parking.
FRIDGE
Another task that people often forget about until the last minute is emptying out their fridge. No one wants to return home to lots of horrible stale or mouldy food. This can cause seriously
unpleasant odours in your home and so you need to ensure that all perishable food is thrown out before you leave so you don’t have to worry about this when you get back.
HEATING AND ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES
Is your heating system on a timer? If so, make sure that you turn this off while you are away so that you are not unnecessarily burning energy and wasting your own money. Another way you can save money is by unplugging all of your electrical devices and this will also ensure that you are not leaving any fire hazards too.
MEDICATION
If there is medication that you need to take on a daily business, you will need to ensure that you not only take this with you, but also that you have enough for the duration of your holiday. Don’t leave checking this until the last minute as you may need to visit your doctor or local pharmacy to pick this up before you go.
CELEBRATORY CARDS
Have birthdays or anniversaries that you need to remember about as you will be on holiday? Make sure that you have this sorted beforehand and either give it to the people early or have a friend post it for you on the appropriate day.
BANK
You should always inform your bank when you are going to be going on holiday as this will ensure that you don’t have any embarrassing situations where you are trying to use your card for a purchase, only to find out that it has been blocked by your own bank!
Now that you are aware of these top things that you may have forgotten to do before going on holiday, it is time to get them organised, sit back, relax, and enjoy your holiday! If there are any top tips that you have, be sure to let us know.
